It all began in the summer of 2021, when a simple conversation sparked something neither of us expected. We made loose plans for a coffee date, but life had other ideas, and our first meeting kept getting postponed. Yet, with each passing day, our conversations deepened. We talked about family, core values, and what it truly means to be committed. We explored hopes, fears, and even some politics. There was an openness and honesty that felt like a breath of fresh air. We were completely on the same page.

After months of anticipation, our coffee date finally happened in October 2021. From that moment on, there was no looking back. Given our shared love for Halloween, our next rendezvous was at the Haunted Hayride, where sparks flew and the conversation only grew more meaningful.

As life unfolded with its challenges and surprises, one thing remained constant: our strong connection and open communication. In April 2022, we had explored each other’s hearts and minds in ways we never thought possible and took a big plunge - we moved in together, and Danny became stepfather to Samoa (Kat's precious fur-baby). It wasn’t always easy, but the work we put into building something real became the most rewarding part of our lives. Together, we grew—not just as individuals, but as partners. Through personal struggles and unforeseen obstacles, we leaned on each other, lifted each other up, and fell more deeply in love with each passing day.

Somewhere along the way, we decided to mark November 15th as our anniversary, and in 2023, we celebrated our second year together with a fancy dinner. Danny thought it would’ve been the perfect time to propose, but he didn’t have the ring... yet. The very next day, he wandered into Tiffany’s to "browse" and left with a little blue box that held more than just a ring—it held the next chapter of our story.

After some stealthy planning with a couple of Kat’s friends in Connecticut for a Christmas Time proposal, Danny just couldn't wait any longer. In true spontaneous fashion, he got down on one knee in the backyard of our best friends' home on Thanksgiving, just before dessert was served.

And here we are, ready to write the rest of our story—together.

*If you see or hear of us referred to as "KatDanny," (one word) it was a name given to both of us by our best friends' 2 yr old, and it stuck :)
